www.microtel.hk ) is owned and operated exclusively by Microtel
International Ltd., a publicly traded company headquartered in the
Hong Kong, which is committed to protecting your privacy and
security online. We take all the necessary steps to ensure a
pleasant experience when you visit www.microtel.hk and use our
services.
The following is our Privacy Policy. This notice describes how we
use and share the information that we collect from you when you
register for our services.
Registration/Information Collection
Before you begin to use our services, you will be asked to
register to become a member. To complete the registration, you will
need to give us some information about yourself including but not
limited to your name, email address, zip code, and address .
microtel collects and stores this information in a secure facility
in the Hong Kong, and we retain ownership of it. If you are located
outside the Hong Kong, please be aware that your information is
being transferred from the country in which you are located to the
Hong Kong, and registration for our services constitutes affirmative
consent to such a transfer. microtel sends all credit card
transactions for authorization and authentication.
microtel's site is protected by a firewall and other measures to
safeguard your financial information and further ensure your privacy
is kept intact.
Correcting/Updating Your Information
You may change your personally identifiable information by
logging into the My Account at
www.microtel.hk . You must have both User ID and Password to log
into your account; if you don't have both, you can choose to have
them e-mailed to you. Once you are logged in, you can change your
information by clicking the button marked "My Profile" and choosing
what information you'd like to change under Personal data.
Notification of Changes
If we make any material changes in our privacy practices that do
not affect user information already stored in our database, we will
post a prominent notice on our website notifying users of the
change. In some cases where we post the notice we will also email
users who have opted to receive communications from us, notifying
them of the changes to our privacy practices.
Communication
As a microtel customer, besides special offers that you may
receive from our partners (if you choose not to opt out) you will
receive a confirmation email with your UserID and password. You may
also receive emails that help keep you informed of your account
information.
Emails that involve current promotions as well as newsletters to
help keep you informed of our latest development are also sent
periodically.
Opting-Out of Receipt of Marketing Materials
You may choose to opt-out of receiving marketing materials from
us at any time by logging in to your account at the microtel My
Account at any time and checking off the applicable box that
indicates that you wish to "opt-out". Any such decision will remain
effective unless and until you affirmatively tell us otherwise, and
you reserve the right to revoke any prior decision to opt-out at any
time.
You can also opt out from marketing emails in two places during
the signup process by simply checking off the opt-out boxes.
Internet Protocol (IP) Addresses
We may collect your IP address to help diagnose problems with our
server and to administrate our website. Your IP address is only used
to identify you and form broad demographic information. This
practice is common and even essential for most websites, as most
companies find it necessary to assess their business online.
We collect log files pertaining to the amount of amount unique
users, the length of a visit, pages visited, time and day of visit,
file downloads and advertising views and clicks through
Google Analytics whose privacy policy can be found
here.
All of this information is collected and used in aggregate. We
monitor usage of our system through IP addresses in order to assist
with the investigation and prevention of potentially unlawful
activities that may threaten the integrity of service or otherwise
violate our Terms of Use.
We maintain two types of web files using IP addresses and other
information: (1) a web log file that monitors the usage of the site
itself originating at individual IP addresses; and (2) a log of
calling information, such as phone number. Actual phone
conversations are not recorded by the service. microtel will not
read, listen to, or disclose to any third parties private e-mail,
conversations, or other communications that are transmitted using
microtel services except as required to ensure proper operation of
our services or as otherwise required by law.
Cookies
A cookie is a message given to a web browser by a web server to
identify and prepare customized web pages for you. The Help menu on
the menu bar of most browsers will tell you how to prevent your
browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify
you when you receive a new cookie, and how to disable cookies
altogether. Although you can elect to not accept cookies, microtel's
products and services require the use of cookies. We use cookies to
keep track of login/password information as well as your
identifiable information to personalize the website as well as for
resolving fraud issues pending discrepancies. If cookies are
disabled, you cannot log in to

We use a third-party advertising company to display the
advertisements on our website. These advertisements may contain
cookies. While we use cookies in other parts of our website, cookies
received with banner advertisements are collected by our third-party
advertising company. This information may be used by microtel and
our third-party advertising company to target advertisements to you
in the future.
microtel may also collect personally identifiable information
from you in the event of a contest, sweepstakes, or other type of
promotion.

Our site may include links to other websites on the Internet.
However, please be advised that microtel is not responsible for the
privacy practice of such sites.
microtel encourages you to read the privacy policy statements of
these linked sites because their privacy practices may differ from
ours.
It's also important to know that microtel has several strategic
partners that help us provide one or more of the services available
through microtel. Occasionally, we will share your account
information with our partners if that is necessary in the
development and/or improvement of our services. On a case-by-case
basis, if our partners have product information that may be of
interest to you, unless you have opted out we may allow them to use
your information for the dissemination of product information.
microtel uses pixels, or transparent GIF files, to help manage
online advertising. These GIF files are provided by our various
partners and providers. These files enable us to learn which
advertisements bring users to our website. The information that we
collect and share is anonymous and not personally identifiable. It
does not contain your name, address, telephone number, or email
address.
Children's Online Privacy Protection Act
Microtel does not knowingly solicit or collect customer
identifiable information from children or teenagers under the age of
eighteen. You should be aware, however, that calling plans purchased
for family use may be used by minors without the knowledge of
microtel. If that happens, any information collected from the usage
will appear to be the personal information of the actual adult
subscriber and treated as such under this Policy.
